Obviously, there are a lot of individuals who are still victims of racism. Lately, it was reported that Cupertino Vice Mayor defended Chinese Exclusion Act as not racist. Basically, Cupertino Vice Mayor Liang-Fang Chao defended the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act in an email group of Cupertino Union School District parents last week, arguing that the first and only federal legislation to explicitly suspend people of a specific nationality from entering the United States was not racist. In addition, Chao was born in Taiwan and has lived in Cupertino since 1999. The Vice Mayor sent the emails Friday to an unofficial "CUSD Parents" Google group that has around 2,000 members.
